Fold Game
The fold game is a networked version of a pencil and paper game where a group
of people draw and name little characters between them.

Wondering how to play? Go have a look at the friendly guide.
The game requires you have a Java runtime environment installed on your computer. If you have not already
got Java installed you can get one from Sun Microsystems at www.java.com
(go to the download section and follow their instructions).

How to play the pen and paper version
Turn off this horrible computer and play the old fashioned way.
Each player draws a head on a piece of paper and then fold the paper so that only the bottom
of the neck could be seen. They then pass this to their left (or right if playing on a Tuesday).
So each player now has a folded piece of paper with two marks at the top of it. They continue the
picture by drawing a body (from the neck down to the waist). Again the paper is folded to leave
just two marks at the top and then passed on. The legs, from the waist to the ankles, are drawn and
the paper folded and passed on. Since there are two legs, this leaves four marks at the top of the paper.
The final drawing phase involves finishing the character off with a pair of feet and folding so that no marks
are visible. Each player then receive a fold piece of player from the player on their right and they have the
joyful task of naming the creation. The characters are revealed to much laughter.
Some example heads
Below are some heads that I drew during development of the program. The drawing tools you get
in the game are very simply.
